Mamoru

Empowering students for sustainable living

UI design

July 2022 - September 2023

Background

"mamoru" app was launched on April 15, 2021. It allows you to easily search for more than 500 stores that sell organic vegetables, fair trade, ethical products, etc. Even if you spend a lot of time at home, you can find eco-friendly stores and services near your home. Furthermore, those who want to contribute to a sustainable society can add stores they want to support to the "Sustainability Map." You can also tackle environmental issues on a personal level and introduce your favorite sustainable shops to other users.

Challenges

  • Bridging the gap between sustainable living and student budgets

  • Educating students about sustainable alternatives

  • Encouraging user engagement and retention

Objectives

  • Develop a user-friendly app for sustainable living

  • Ensure a seamless and user-friendly experience for students managing their accounts and making sustainable purchases

My Role

As a UI Designer, my role focused on crafting intuitive and visually engaging interfaces for some sections of the platform, including the Onboarding, Homepage, Account Settings, Checkout, and Cart screens etc.

Solution

Mamoru was designed as a comprehensive solution to bridge the gap between sustainable living and student budgets. The app incorporates various features to create a unique and engaging platform for students, promoting eco-friendly choices while making it financially viable for them.

The key feature of Mamoru

Exclusive Student Discounts

Mamoru's core feature revolves around providing exclusive student discounts on sustainable products

Recognizing the financial constraints students often face, Mamoru partners with sustainable brands and shops to offer special deals that make environmentally conscious choices more affordable

This not only encourages students to adopt a sustainable lifestyle but also establishes Mamoru as a valuable resource for budget-conscious eco-conscious consumers

UI design

Mobile App

Mamoru initially started as a mobile app but later transitioned to a web-based platform due to challenges in maintaining the mobile application.

Upon joining this project, I found that some screens were already designed. Therefore, I began working on additional necessary screens while learning about the app on the go. This approach allowed me to contribute to the project's progress by developing new screens and simultaneously improving my skills through hands-on experience.
